We all face difficult times in life; therapy can help you figure out what you want from your life, what your barriers are and how cope with difficult situations. Therapy is more than just talking about your problems. A therapist can help you become more aware of your patterns, more engaged in your life and learn to change the things that no longer serve you.
We use our experience and feedback from our clients to build a different experience in therapy. We believe that when people feel heard and understood, it can create an environment for growth and healing. We bring in a range of approaches and active interventions to help you move forward towards your goals.
Therapy starts with an intake session. The provider will ask you a range of questions to understand what you are hoping to get from therapy and how to meet those needs. With your provider, you will develop a plan of how to use the scheduled time moving forward. You can start this process now by calling or emailing us to set up an initial appointment.
The first session of therapy is about getting to know you and your reasons for seeking out therapy. You will be asked to complete a short form with contact information and a brief statement about your reason for seeking therapy. We will review informed consent for services. The majority of the session is focused on understanding your history, reasons for seeking out therapy, understanding the problem and developing a personalized treatment plan for moving forward.
